It's Swim Time

Sawyer's eyes kill him after swimming.
All ages love ring pops.

It's always a day fo fun at the pool.

Yesterday was supposed to be the last day that the relatives from Florida were home but at the last minute my Uncle Charles decided to wait until Sunday night to leave. We had considered taking the kids to a water park in Morton but scheduling just didn't allow it. We compromised and took the kids back to Memaw's pool. They all had a great time. Kristie and Isabelle Prine also joined us.

Roller Skating, falls and spills

Larsen enjoyed the video room.
Even after all the bruises everyone had a great time.

Hannah Moak, Kaylie, Abigail Hynum

If we hold on to each other we can stand up.
Looking cool, even on roller skates.
Sisterly love at its finest.

Eliza tried to be very helpful to Larsen.
What a beautiful girl!

Last night a friend of ours rented the Skate Zone in Brookhaven. I took 7 kids rollerskating. The Skate Zone is not exactly the best roller rink I have ever been to. I personally would not recommend it to other people. It does not have a wood floor and it is square shaped. It is entirely too small and not conducive to roller skating. I am a pretty good roller skater and have not fallen in years. As soon as I rolled on to that floor I knew that I would end up busting my tail sooner than later. I was right, I fell about a minute and half after getting on the floor. Needless to say, this morning I have a few bruises to show for my effort on that horrible, tile floor. The kids did have a good time. Many of their good friends were there. We knew everyone in the building. Larsen had a good time also. She wanted to be on the floor skating with them.

MS Agriculture, Forestry, and Aviation Museum

They need to relax after such a long and adventerous day.

The arrowhead collection was just wonderful.

Come experience history.

The old car was a hit.

They tried to imagine themselves riding in the carriage.

Who doesn't love Coca Cola?

The largest rocking chair in MS

Our home town is well represented

After spending a great deal of time at the Natural Science Museum we left there and then took the kids to the Jim Buck Ross Mississipp Agriculture, Forestry, and Aviation Museum. I loved it. The kids seemed to really enjoy it as well. I think it is most appreciated if you have a curiosity about the past and the things that represent our history. We were basically the only family there so we were able to look at things and go in the buildings without being in a real hurry.

The Natural Science Museum

Nature Trail

The lime green swamp really was pretty.

Alligators are in the tank

Dinosaur Bones

Turtles, Turtles, and More Turtles

The kids found the large white fish to be very interesting in the huge fish tank.

After eating their lunch my Aunt Pat Roberts and my Uncle Charles Farmer took the kids to Lefleur's Bluff State Park and to the Natural Science Museum. I was able to get away from work in time to meet them at the Science Museum. The kids enjoyed viewing their live nad stuffed specimens. We even went for a walk on the nature trail in the 100 degree heat. We were sweaty, to say the least, but we all made it through just fine.

Trying to get to the plane on time

On Tuesday the kids had a very adventurous day. It started with them all accompanying Aileen to the airport. Her flight was scheduled to leave at 10:20am. Of course, they had to arrive much earlier than that to account for airport security and so forth. That put them being in the middle of rush hour traffic. Can you guess what happened? You got it. A fender bender involving several automobiles. By the grace of God noone was hurt. Kaylie actually saw that the accident was about to happen and tried to brace herself but still ended up with a tiny little cut to the underside of her upper lip just above her two front teeth. They finally got Aileen to the airport. She missed her flight but was able to catch a later one. The kids were then ready for lunch.

The Petrified Forest

Yesterday we spent the afternoon in Flora, MS exploring the Petrified Forest. We had a group of 15. We all had a great time. The Petrified Forest is one of those "natural wonders of the world." Each and every turn on the trail led us to a large and awesome piece of petrified wood. If you are visiting MS I recommend you make a stop there because it is unique and very affordable. With our group of 15 came a discount rate of $4 a person. They even have a nice gift shop with petrified wood and polished stones for sale. There were some nice items that our kids bought for $3. The kids even got to "mine for gold." To end our trip at the Petrified Forest we treated ourselves to one of their $1 medium slushies.

Great Uncle Ray

After returning to my Mawmaw's house Sunday evening my Great Uncle Ray came by to visit everyone. He is the last of the seven Farmer children.

How many floats can fit in one pool?

On Sunday all of us spent the afternnoon swimming in Mama's pool. We had a great time. The kids played one game after another. It was a wonderful time together.
