Kaylie's birthday sleepover

Kaylie had a sleepover the weekend after her birthday on September 5. The girls stayed up most of the night. Around 2:15 am they woke me up because they had broken one of those new light bulbs with mercury in it. Do you know that I had to get on the internet and look up how to handle one of those bulbs if they are broken? They may be the energy saving light bulb but they are a lot of hassle. I am referring to the instuctions that are posted on the website of the brand that I bought. We were instructed to evacuate the room for about 15 minutes and open the windows. Use gloves to remove the broken pieces. Double bag the broken the pieces. That is crazy. They are more trouble than they are worth. The girls were scared to death that they were going to die. Everyone made it through the night though. They were all up bright and early. Each of the girls had places to be first thing in the morning. They are a busy group of girls.

Kaylie is twelve today!!

Sawyer got a hair cut yesterday.

Today Kaylie is 12. I can't believe how fast she is growing up. It seems like yesterday she was just a baby and a toddler. Time has past so quickly. This morning I had her present sitting on the coffee table when she got up. We all sat and watched her open her gift. She received a case that locks and several bottles of fingernail polish. I told her I had better not find fingernail polish lying around ever again. Larsen has a way of always finding it. The carpet in Kaylie's room is stained and the carpet on the stairs is stained with polish.

watermelon by lantern light

Well, we have all been watching the weather pretty closely this past week because of the hurricanes that are making the news. It started to rain at our house before 9:00 pm last night and out the lights went. We were watching a hurricane update as we lost power. My sister-in-law and her family were over as the power went out. We all sat around the kitchen and ate some watermelon that Kelly had put on ice. It was fun. We got power back at exactly 1:00 am. It is raining here now but we are not getting too much wind. We were all preparing for another Katrina. Everything is going to be okay here I believe.

Sunday morning Sawyer

If you look in the dictionary for the word "woolly buger," this is what you will find.

More pictures of Jaxson

Here are a few more pictures of Jaxson. It is harder to get good pictures from him than Larsen. Sometimes he just will not smile or participate. You have to get pictures of him when he is in the mood.

The Carpenter ladies

While I was taking pictures of Kaylie, Kelly said, "Let me take one of all three of you." So here we are, The Carpenter Ladies.

growing up beautifully

I took several pictures of Kaylie after church Sunday because she just looked so pretty. She is really growing up very quickly. Tomorrow, Sept. 2, is her 12th birthday. She thinks she is 12 going on 25. She is trying to assert her independence but at times she is still a little girl.

Sunday morning pictures

On Sunday morning I got my mother to come over and take some group pictures of us since we had Jaxson. They turned out okay.

playing with the camera in the car

Friday night we met Brittany at a Mexican restaurant to pick up Jaxson for the weekend. On the way there the kids were playing with my camera in the car. Kids really do enjoy having their picture made even though complain about it when I want to take the pictures.
